What is an AV Rating?
When choosing an attorney many people rely on mass advertisements rather than substance. Martindale-Hubbell and Associates have created a way for both clients and peers to rate attorneys long before the internet even existed in 1887, thus making the search for a reputable attorney easier. Lawyers are rated on two different components: legal ability and ethical standard.
Legal ability is rated by the letters C, B, and A. C is considered very good, B is high, and A is exceptional. The second factor is ethical standard, which is denoted by the letter V. In order to be ranked as AV, one must be exemplary in legal ability and peer-rated for ethical standard. Ms. Green has earned the prestigious rating of “Preeminent AV,” which only the top 5% of lawyers hold.
